My kiddos are all four-legged with fur, so baby showers are often out of my league. BUT for this particular shower, the parents-to-be were HUGE Star Wars fans, so the challenge was on as to how to incorporate a theme I could relate to with Baby Girl pink and white.
And did I mention that the Mom of honor insisted on absolutely no shower games, so I was off the hook on the whole toilet paper around the belly guessing game, clothespin word games, etc. I started to actually look forward to this shower!
As anyone does when it’s time for a party, I stalked two of my favorite places – Pinterest and Target.
This was prior to the 2015 Star Wars update, so there wasn’t an entire row dedicated to my theme at Target, but that wonderful store still came through like a champ. Mini sets of Star Wars Legos provided my awesome bendable C3P0 figure. AND the Star Wars A to Z baby book. Seriously? Pure gold.

Rockabye C3P0
Pinterest suggested props like lightsabres. Now, it was time to go to my attic. I’m teased mercilessly about keeping Halloween décor for…ever. But guess what? I always find another use. Always.
That’s why the toy lightsabre that had been used in an office Halloween space theme five years earlier was readily available and working perfectly with new batteries.
Now, I wouldn’t have expected my Mom’s vintage dollhouse furniture circa 1950 to come into play, but when I saw the rocking horse, I thought it might come in handy and threw it down. Can you say custom made for C3P0?
Since I was over by dollhouse stuff, my Cabbage Patch Doll, Beatrisa Raye, smiled up at me from the plastic bin (yes, I still remember her name, please don’t judge). Amazing how readily her hair spun into the infamous Lea buns. Small white tee and a belt and I think she cleaned up nicely as a Baby Lea, don’t you? I did throw a solar blanket into the wicker basket to add a little more outer space flair.
Top with pink and white balloons, carnations floating in small glass vases and a stand full of cupcakes and I’d say we pulled off a unique theme in a galaxy not so far away. May the baby shower force be with you, my friends!
