Normally I get depressed when it’s time to take down Christmas decorations, but putting together a January mantel shifted my focus. I was a bit burnt out on bright reds and greens, so something clean and white just seemed right.
- My Target mirror was happy to stay in the mix (minus the Oh, Holy Night print and its red matte).
- My husband’s giant wine magnum from an NYC restaurant held the Hobby Lobby clearance branches in a nice, random pattern. Stacked on a couple of our unjacketed books, I got the height I needed.
- Who knew that the REALLY large, iced beverage holder with the fleur de lis that my parents had given us for Christmas would fit right in…spigot turned to the back, of course.
- Crate and Barrel favorites also came back out and the hurricane and wrought-iron candleholder just took on a wintry look with the white pillars.
- Doesn’t hurt to have an amazing Mom who worked for Waterford crystal for many years and passes along some beautiful pieces, including the vase next to the Magnum.
Kicking off the new year with a little break from color never hurt anyone and we enjoyed our fires and icy white look!
