As I was debating about what to use on our Christmas mantel, I kept coming back to the big picture frames that folks were using on Pinterest. I knew I also wanted to use my Crate & Barrel reindeer (who had debuted on our table the year before).
After pulling out the Monet print from a 24×36 poster frame from my first apartment (yes, I keep EVERYTHING), spray painting it gold, and playing around a bit by hot gluing red beads to it, I thought it looked fun to have the reindeer stepping through the frame.

Add in a few metal snowflakes from JoAnn clearance, a Target mirror with map board taped on for a 3-D effect and an Oh, Holy Night printout, and we seeing the beginnings of holiday cheer.
But I needed light. Off I went to Home Goods where I found a pearly mix garland on sale that I grabbed and then down the street to Big Lots for two white warm LED branches-$7 each, thank you very much.

As a final touch, I threw in random candlesticks and holders and the PEACE stocking holders from my existing stash and the result is a my mantel tribute to the Holy Night…plus a reindeer.

Hope it gives you a few ideas that lead to something completely different like Pinterest always gives me!
